Positive Results

So the test reveals you are pregnant, what now? The first thing you should do is take a deep breath. You may be feeling super anxious and overwhelmed, and that is normal, but you need to breathe. Then you need to think about who you are going to talk to. Whoever you decide to talk to should treat you with respect, show patience and listen to your thoughts and feelings, and should support you in all 3 options that are available to pregnant females (more info on the options coming right up). A good resource could be your school nurse, the public health nurse at the nursing station or clinic, or a doctor. You may also consider talking to an elder, a member of your church, or even your parents. Just remember, if you are the one that is pregnant, only YOU have the right to decide what is going to happen.

What Are the Options?

Every female in Canada has the right to choose how they are going to plan what’s going to happen with their pregnancy. There are three options, and you may have mixed feelings on them: abortion, adoption, or parenting.
